Among the many Sushi shops we chose a rotating Sushi shop in the middle of the heart of Shibuya’s shopping area directly next to our Internet Café (refer to ‘Internet Café’).
After every visit – we visited them nearly daily – the welcome became more heartily and louder and the offered places became better. However, waiting time couldn’t be avoided all the time, especially during the main lunch period between 12am and 2pm. Only after our second visit the staff stopped pointing out that there was a minimum obligation to order – we always exceeded this amount by far. At the last day our maximum was 20 dishes each of us.
Compared to Sushi shops in Berlin the Sushi are more than 50% larger and much fresher, probably because they were delivered from the Tsukiji Fish Market (refer to ’Tsukiji Fish Market’) just the same morning. Additionally the variety of fish is much bigger. Of course we had our favorites, which also could be ordered by acclamation (in Japanese!), if they were not rotating. A highlight were roasted tuna Sushi with onions …
The prices were the same as last year; a dish (with two pieces) was 120 Yen.
