After the first world seminar in 2009 in October this year 170 participants (70 foreigners) gathered for the second world seminar at Kannon Onsen (‘hot spring’) in the magnificent scenery of Shimoda in Shizuoka.
After finishing the two-weeks seminar at the Herzogenhorn in Germany, where we come together every year, I had the opportunity to teach at three other locations solely. During this week Axel Bergemann, who teaches Aikido in Starnberg, accompanied me. By car the drive from the first to the next seminar location took about six hours. It was the first time that I taught Aikido solely in Germany, and I am really indebted to Axel, who spontaneously supported me.
This time I want to talk about the Aikido training. During the last years Aikido has become popular all over the world.
This year we will have to take all efforts to show the rest of the world the strength, with which Japan will be able to overcome all difficulties. Although a single person has only limited power, we might be able to extend our joint strength infinitely by our great number. Now it is very important to value gratitude and respect, because this might have the result that people will trust and help each other even more.
